Haven’t had a horror review in a while and picked this for me and Liz to watch for a night in. If you’re looking for an actual horror movie then don’t watch this.

If you’re looking for a horror-comedy with great special effects and a decent script, this is for you.

Jennifer’s Body follows a somewhat different relationship between two friends. I guess they’re suppose to be best friends.

We have our protagonist Anita (Needy) portrayed by Amanda Seyfried. She’s sort of quiet and reserved but she’s just an average teenager. Jennifer is portrayed by Megan Fox. Her character is the typical hot girl.

My favorite thing about Jennifer is that she’s some hot popular girl but she’s on the fucking flag team. Front and center on the flag team.

Anyways, Jennifer drags Needy out to a rock show at their only bar in town. The band is from the city and they have some sinister shit on their mind. They decide they need to sacrifice a virgin for fame. I already felt like it was way more trouble than it’s worth.

So the lead singer decides that Jennifer of all people is a virgin and they’ll sacrifice her. Spoiler alert. She is definitely not a virgin. So the ritual they partake in turns her into a succubus.

Being a succubus, she must feed on men to gain strength or she’ll just look depressed like Kristen Stewart in New Moon. Eating men is the far better option.

And with that, I’ll leave you to watch the movie. I will say I loved the special effects in this movie and the kills. It definitely has a decent horror trope throughout the movie with the jump scares.

This movie also has some really amazing cinematography shots and transitions that I enjoyed. Just don’t take it too seriously and watch it with some friends.
